Two displaced by apartment fire

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Portsmouth fire crews responded to an apartment fire just after 7 p.m. Thursday in the 4700 block of Kings Street, according to Capt. Paul Hoyle.

When units arrived, they found the middle unit of a three-unit apartment building on fire. Crews had the fire under control before 7:20 and the fire was contained to the middle unit.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, but two adults were displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting them.
