NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The principal of Lafayette-Winona Middle School in Norfolk was replaced Friday, amid allegations that she was involved in test cheating at the school.
Cassandra Goodwyn, who is accused of lying and coercing teachers to help students cheat on state-mandated tests, was replaced on an interim basis by Sharon Byrdsong, the division's senior director of alternative options.
A panel was appointed to investigate the charges against Goodwyn, and Byrdsong will hold the position under the Norfolk school board and superintendent finish their review of the panel's report.
WAVY.com had an exclusive interview with Goodwyn two weeks ago, which is linked to the left of this story.
