SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Crews have closed a portion of North Main Street in Suffolk after a water main began leaking Friday morning.
Diana Klink, spokeswoman for the City of Suffolk, told WAVY.com the leak occurred in the 1500 block of Main Street. All northbound travel lanes have been closed as crews work to restore the pavement.
Klink said crews could be on the scene until 4 p.m.
About 10 business and 50 residential connections experienced a lapse in water service. Klink said not everyone in the area was affected because of multiple water mains.
