SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A sixth grade student has been recommended for expulsion after a piece of wood carved as a knife was found in his backpack.

According to Suffolk Police, a student at John Yeates Middle School was in possession of a knife while traveling on a school bus Wednesday morning around 7:35 a.m. Police added the knife was recovered by the school’s principal and no students were threatened.
