Search warrant executed on Railroad Avenue

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk police executed a search warrant Tuesday in the Jericho area of the city where two suspects were taken into custody.

Investigators executed the search warrant at a home in the 900 block of Railroad Avenue. The SWAT team was also on the scene, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Debbie George.

The search warrant was in reference to a criminal investigation leading back to a shooting on Wilson Avenue.

Travis E. Lee was shot multiple times around 2:45 a.m. on Jan. 21. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for his injuries.

Raheem Artis, 21, of Railroad Avenue, and William Jeffrey Holland, Jr., 19, of the 5500 block of Godwin Boulevard, were taken into custody.

Artis was charged with malicious wounding, shoot/cut/wound, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and discharging a firearm in a public place causing injury which is the same as unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Holland was charged with malicious wounding, shoot/cut/wound, and discharging a firearm in a public place causing injury.
