SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk police are investigating an arson after a semi trailer was found on fire on May 11.
The truck belonged to Butler Paper Recycling, located on Newport Street in Suffolk.
Debbie George with the City of Suffolk tells WAVY.com the trailer was parked in a small lot on the corner of Newport and Eugenia streets, along with several other semi trailers that belong to the company.
Suffolk fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, but the semi trailer and its contents were destroyed.
George says the trailer was valued at $4,000, and the scrap paper it was loaded with is valued at approximately $2,500.
This case remains under investigation by Suffolk Police.
