SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A student helped recover school picture money stolen off a teacher’s desk, according to Suffolk school officials.
Suffolk Police say an envelope was taken from a teacher’s desk at Kilby Shores Elementary School meant for Lifetouch that contained cash and checks for school pictures.
A fellow student told his mother about the incident, who then informed the teacher, who then told the school’s principal, according to a police report. All checks and cash were returned and Lifetouch did not want to prosecute.
Bethanne Bradshaw with Suffolk Public Schools told WAVY.com the student who took the money is a fifth grader. He has been suspended pending an administrative hearing.
