SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - One person has been displaced following a house fire Wednesday morning in Suffolk.
According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, crews responded to a house fire in the 1000 block of Railroad Avenue at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Klink says one occupant was in the home at the time and was displaced by the fire. She is now staying with family and was not injured.
Klink says the fire started in the home's first floor but was contained shortly before 11 a.m. Damage estimates are $5,000 and the cause of the fire was an electrical heater malfunction.
