SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A man faces charges of failing to care for animals after police say one of his dogs didn't have a rabies shot.
Police say 49-year-old Joshua Long, of the 200 block of Oak Street in Suffolk faces one count each of no rabies vaccination and no city dog license.
The charges come after police say they found inadequate space and shelter for two dogs and one of the dogs not having its rabies shot at Long's residence. Police say one dog was chained to an abandoned house and another was changed to the owner's porch.
Police say the dogs didn't have much room to move as the chains were wrapped up around railing.
