SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - High winds knocked a mobile home off a tractor trailer traveling through Suffolk Friday morning.

Suffolk Police were called to the accident scene in the 2200 block of Bridge Road/Route 17 at the Godwin Bridge just after 10:30 a.m.

Both northbound lanes of Bridge Road/Route 17 were shut down for several hours. The roadway was reopened in both directors shortly before 2 p.m.

Police spokesman Tim Kelley said the mobile home weighed approximately 20,000 pounds.
