City tests snow removal units

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Although snowfall may be the last thing on Suffolk residents' minds, the City of Suffolk is already planning to improve snow removal services this winter.

According to Diana Klink, crews have been trained to use a new brine tank and spreader system, which can cover two lanes of road at one time, creating an efficient way to pre-treat roads ahead of storms.

Klink says the equipment can also be used for dust suppression, and the City plans on purchasing more units if training goes well.
