SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A vacant home under renovation suffered fire damage late Thursday night.
Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said firefighters were dispatched to the 500 block of Battery Avenue around 10:45 p.m. for a report of a structure fire. Once on scene, they found heavy smoke and flames showing from a single-story home.
According to Klink, the home was vacant and under renovation at the time of the fire, though the cause remains under investigation at this time.
Neighboring homes suffered fire exposure damage, Klink added. No one was injured and no one was displaced.
