SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Medics took a man to the hospital Sunday afternoon from injuries he suffered when his car and home caught fire.

City spokeswoman Daina Klink said fire and rescue workers responded to the 4400 block of Swansea Circle at 3:21 p.m.  Witnesses on scene told them the man was working on his 1986 Mercedes Benz when the car caught fire. The fire then jumped to the home.

Klink said crews had the fire out quickly.  No word on the man's condition. Investigators from the Fire Marshal's Office are working to find a cause.
