HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) - A strong thunderstorm passed through the Hampton Roads area late Friday evening into Saturday morning.
Dominion Virginia Power crews are now busy restoring power to the tens of thousands of customers without it. If you lost power and have questions about when it will return, you can call 1-866-DOM-HELP.
Storm damage reports are widespread across the Hampton Roads area from the Southside to the Peninsula; trees down on buildings and roadways. One WAVY.com user emailed a picture showing a blown transformer in the middle of a street in Suffolk.
According to WAVY's Don Slater, wind gusts around the area reached 50 mph.
