PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) - Services have been set for a Virginia State Police trooper fatally shot Thursday during an Interstate 85 traffic stop in Dinwiddie.
State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says a wake for 63-year-old Master Trooper Junius A. Walker will be held Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg.
Funeral services for the 35-year State Police veteran are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be for family only.
Officials say 28-year-old Russell E. Brown III of Chesterfield is charged with capital murder and two felony firearms counts. He's also charged with attempted capital murder for allegedly exchanging gunfire with another trooper.
Prosecutors say they'll seek the death penalty.
Brown is being held without bond at the Meherrin River Regional Jail in Alberta.
