Suffolk man searches for Good Samaritan

SUFFOLK, Va (WAVY) - 10 On Your Side is helping a Suffolk man search for a Good Samaritan who saved him when he was in a bad spot on a busy interstate.

Sylvester Rogers had an outpatient procedure at the Hampton Veterans Hospital last month and on the way home he blacked out.

"Both feet hit the brake and I heard somebody knocking on the window, 'You okay?'" Rogers said.

Rogers doesn't remember much about the man but will never forget what he did.

"He drove me all the way to my house," Rogers said.

Rogers had gotten into the man's car and told him where he lived.

"Most people are out to get you so I think he's one of the good ones," Rogers said. "So that's why I'm trying to find him so I can thank him personally."

Rogers' doctor can't explain why he blacked out, but Rogers said there is only one explanation for what happened next.

"It had to be God that took care of me that day," Rogers said.

Rogers is hoping the man that helped him that day contacts 10 On Your Side by emailing stephanie.harris@wavy.com.
