SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Rescue workers found an elderly woman near her home Saturday almost four hours after her husband reported her missing.
Suffolk police, fire and rescue workers responded to the woman's home in the 1200 block of Manning Road about 1 p.m. The woman's husband told them she went for her routine, early morning walk behind their home and failed to return.
Search and rescue workers found the woman, 76-year-old Joan Fortuna, around 3:50 p.m. Medics treated her at the scene for minor lacerations.
Further details surrounding her disappearance and subsequent rescue were not immediately available.
