VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY/AP) - Regent University inaugurated Carlos Campo as its new president on Thursday.
Campo was chosen last year as the successor to the retired Pat Robertson, who founded the school in 1978.
Campo is the eighth president to serve at Regent, and is the first Latino to lead a major Christian University in the United States, according to a statement from the Regent University.
Campo previously served as the university's vice president of academic affairs.
