PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Police say an elderly man was struck by a vehicle in the 3800 block of George Washington Highway in Portsmouth Thursday afternoon.
According to Jan Clark with the Portsmouth Police Department, the 82-year-old victim was transported to Norfolk Sentara General Hospital. He is said to be in stable condition as of Friday afternoon.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was trying to cross the street when he was struck by a minivan. The driver of the van remained on scene.
No charges have been filed.
