PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - A natural gas leak at the Coast Guard building in Portsmouth has resulted in an evacuation.
Chief Myx Cangemi with the Coast Guard told WAVY.com the leak occurred in the 400 block of Water Street and was called in around 11:30 a.m. The Coast Guard building was evacuated as a precaution.
Chief Mike Stockton with the Portsmouth Fire Department told WAVY.com a contractor separated a gas main. The gas company worked to secure the flow and repair the leak shortly after 2 p.m.
