NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The U.S Army Corps of Engineers is teaming up with the City of Portsmouth to conduct joint aerial mosquito spraying.

According to Kerry Solan with the US Army Corps of Engineers, spraying will occur from 4 p.m. to 7 pm. on July 2. The spraying areas include federal properties on Craney Island and adjacent properties in the Churchland area of Portsmouth.

Beekeepers are asked to cover their bees during the spraying in their area. People with known allergic reactions are advised to stay inside.
