PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Members of the Coast Guard, Navy, Portsmouth Police and Portsmouth firefighters competed with local chefs to cook up the best tasting barbecue and coleslaw.
The First Responder Barbecue and Slaw Throwdown in downtown Portsmouth was the third of its kind.
"We had our first celebration in 2010, and we hope to do this for decades to come." Terry Danaher with Coast Guard said.
10 On Your Side's Ariane Aramburo served as a guest judge. The event is part of a four-day celebration honoring the relationship between the city and the Coast Guard.
