PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Portsmouth celebrated its third Coast Guard City Celebration Saturday afternoon, offering up plenty for visitors and locals to do.

Saturday afternoon held a street festival in Olde Towne with music, food and family fun all day. It was all part of the Coast Guards 222nd birthday.

“This is family oriented,” resident Stephen Smith told WAVY.com. “ It’s not just for the Coast Guard, it’s for Coast Guard dependents, too. With all the kid activities and all the different food and treats and ice cream and all the different things out here for us, it’s very kid friendly.”

Portsmouth held events for three days to celebrate the Coast Guard’s history in the City.
