PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Nearly a dozen people were assisted after a fire ripped through their Portsmouth home Tuesday night.
Chief Mike Stockton with the Portsmouth Fire Department said the fire sparked on the second floor of the home in the 100 block of Wyoming Avenue. No one was injured, but 11 people were assisted by the American Red Cross.
The fire took about 30 minutes to get under control. Stockton said the home suffered water and fire damage to the second floor.
