Arson Suspect Napoleon Whitaker

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office have made an arrest in connection with an apartment fire Wednesday afternoon. Officials say the fire was intentionally set by a resident of the apartment building.
26-year-old Napoleon Whitaker, of Yorktown was arrested and charged with one count of Arson Thursday.
The fire happened in the 200 block of Barham Blvd. on a second floor apartment at around 2 p.m. Wednesday. It was brought under control within 20 minutes of the fire crew's arrival, according to the sheriff's office.
After receiving information on a possible suspect and information that the fire may have been intentionally set, sheriff's deputies established a perimeter and searched for the suspect.
The suspect, now known as Whitaker, was located at 2:50 p.m. and detained in the area of Coleman Bridge on Route 17.
Building occupants from the apartment adjacent to the fire are being assisted by the property management company and the American Red Cross.
