NC 12 in Kitty Hawk reopens

KITTY HAWK, N.C. (WAVY) - NC 12 on Hatteras Island has reopened following a closure due to ocean overwash earlier Saturday.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation says there is still water in some areas of the road and are advising motorists to take caution when traveling through the area, according to a press release from NCDOT.
NCDOT says there is the possibility of overwash happening again around 6 p.m. this evening.
