Victim in Gloucester Co. crash ID'd

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Emergency crews responded to a deadly crash on Route 198 in Gloucester County at 8 a.m . Wednesday and have now identified the man killed.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police said troopers were called to a two vehicle crash along Route 198 east of Hell Neck Road around 7:45 a.m. An investigation revealed a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Rebecca Jones Bass of Onemo, Va. crossed the center line, hitting a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta head on.
The driver of the Jetta, 47-year-old Stephen Rea Johnson of Dutton died at the scene, Anaya said. Anaya added Bass was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Both driver were wearing seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol was not a factor. The crash remains under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
