NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Volunteers teamed up to help rebuild parts of Norfolk’s Eggleston Gardens Friday after many sections of the garden center were destroyed by high winds over the winter.
Eggleston Services, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to the education, training and employment of people with disabilities.
“We’re helping make a difference in the community for people who it, and that’s probably the absolute best part,” Mandi Fornes told WAVY.com. “We’re out here at the end of the day, we know we did something that is really going to make a difference in the future, especially for a lot of people that could otherwise not get it done.”
Volunteers from Affinity 4 helped with the rebuilding. The group specializes in helping local charities, ministries and other non-profits.
