NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - No one was hurt after a small fire burned in the kitchen of a Norfolk home Thursday afternoon.

Capt. Mike Hicks with Norfolk Fire Rescue said crews were dispatched to the 5400 block of Bayberry Drive around noon for a report of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, they found smoke showing from the home’s windows.

Firefighters were able to knock down the small kitchen fire. Hicks said the fire was caused by unattended cooking.
