NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - VDOT reports potholes on I-264 were repaired again Tuesday evening following an all-day rainstorm.
According to a news release from the Virginia Department of Transportation, TME Enterprises, Inc. repaired several potholes on eastbound Interstate 264 between Campostella Road to Ballentine Boulevard Tuesday evening.
Three left lanes of I-264 eastbound were closed off for TME to conduct repairs.
VDOT officials said the repairs were scheduled to end by midnight Tuesday and said they will monitor the interstate overnight to make sure no more potholes open up.
Earlier this month, another rainstorm opened up dozens of potholes, prompting similar emergency repairs across the interstate. The pothole fiasco led to thousands of dollars in damage for Virginia drivers, and ultimately, the departure of VDOT's district administrator Dennis Heuer .
