NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk police arrested a 16-year-old boy for a series of commercial burglaries.
Police said the teen burglarized eight businesses between Dec. 26, 2011 and Jan. 15, 2012 on Lavalette Avenue, Sewells Point Road, Azalea Garden Road, and Sellger Drive.
Police received a tip that the teen was involved in a burglary at Tinee Giant on January 8.
Investigators identified the teen and was later stopped by officers outside of a commercial burglary units were responding to in the 2400 block of Granby Street on January 14.
Investigators used those instances to interview the teen who was then charged with the commercial burglaries.
The teen was charged with eight counts of burglary, three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, three counts of grand larceny, three counts of larceny of lottery tickets, and one count of petit larceny.
The investigation is ongoing.
