Suspicious package found in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Norfolk Bomb Squad responded to the scene of a suspicious package that was found on Stephens Lane in the Ocean View area Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to the 9300 block of Stephens Lane around 12:17 p.m. after a suspicious package was found in the area.

At around 1:05 p.m. a person was seen dumping a bulky black bag at a nearby golf course.

The Bomb Squad responded to the scene and cleared the package without incident, according to a police spokesperson.

Police have not said what was in the bag.
