NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Crews with the Norfolk Fire Department have a fire along Haven Drive Monday evening under control.
Norfolk dispatchers told WAVY.com the call came in around 7:10 p.m. for a fire in the 100 block of Haven Drive. The fire was said to be in the garage attached to a home.
Capt. Mike Hicks with the Norfolk Fire Department said when crews arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the garage. The home received moderate smoke damage, as well as the attic.
No one was injured and firefighters were able to get the blaze under control rather quickly, Hicks added.
The homeowner told WAVY.com he and his wife heard the dog barking and smelled smoke. When they opened the garage door, they found flames and called 911.
