NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The man convicted of driving drunk and killing three friends in a crash will go to prison for 25 years.

A jury found 32-year-old Craig Watson guilty in Oct. 2011.

In Aug. of 2010, Watson ran off Indian River Road, crashed through a guardrail, hit a tree, then landed against a house in the 1800 block of East Indian River Road

Marquita Walker, 19, Paris Shorter, 18, and Karnell Faulkner, 29, were killed in the crash. Walker's family said she was pregnant at the time.

Watson was convicted of three counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter and one count of DUI, according to Amanda Howie with the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.

The aggravated involuntary manslaughter charges are felonies, and the DUI charge is a misdemeanor.

The judge imposed the jury's recommendation of 25 years.
