NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The City of Norfolk began restoration work at Lambert's Point Golf Course after the area suffered heavy erosion following Hurricane Sandy.

A cover placed for protective measures at Lamberts Point Golf Course in Norfolk had blown off during the hurricane caused extensive damage.

The same area had been extensively damaged during Hurricane Irene in February. Temporary covers to stop the erosion caused by Irene cost the city $180,000.

A construction contract awarded to the city for a permanent solution started this month.
