Contractor hits Norfolk water main

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A contractor struck a 6” Norfolk water main Thursday morning, sending water shooting into the air.

Harry Kenyon with the Norfolk Department of Utilities told WAVY.com the call came in around 9 a.m. in the 2900 block of Marne Avenue.

As a result of the break, water was shut off to the 2900 to 3000 block of Marne Avenue.

The main was repaired and water was restored around 1 p.m. Thursday.
