NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Colley Cantina will be closing its doors this weekend, and many residents of Norfolk are sad to see the 21-year-old establishment go.
"The phone has been blowing off the hook... I mean it's sad," Ali Oliver said. "Colley Cantina has been here for 21 years. People have had a lot of good memories here. Relationships were started here."
The Cantina was where Christa Jones met her boyfriend.
"I was bummed," Jones said. "I met my boyfriend here, so we thought we had to come up here before it closed this weekend."
In the past three years, several long-time favorites have changed hands .
"There has been a big change on Colley Avenue," C.J. Vogt said.
Some think Colley is becoming just a link in a chain.
"I don't know [if it's] bad, but it's certainly different," Jones said. "It kind of un-Ghentifies things a little bit."
The Cantina will change hands but will still be locally owned.
