NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The City of Norfolk is accused of violating a permit when it removed the bald eagle nests at the Norfolk Botanical Garden last year.
An attorney for Eagle on Alliance sent a letter to City Manager Marcus Jones earlier this week accusing the city of violating the Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries permit.
The nests were removed in October at the request of the Federal Government because they were too close to Norfolk International Airport.
The city said the nest was under construction per USDA-Wildlife Services and covered under the permit.
