NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Virginia Zoo's baby siamang and its parents explored the outdoors for the first time Friday.

The baby is 52 days old. Zoo officials say once she is a little older, she will be given access with her parents to the outdoors regularly for two to three hours when it is sunny. The temperature will need to stay above 65 degrees.

Check out a photo gallery of the siamang here.

In colder temperatures, the baby can be seen with its parents in the indoor play room of the zoo.
