NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - An officer and a civilian were taken to a hospital with minor injuries following a collision on Warwick Boulevard Wednesday evening.
Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department says an officer was traveling north on Warwick Boulevard and taking a left turn on Beechmont Drive when he collided with a woman who ran a red light driving south on Warwick Boulevard. The woman hit the officer head-on.
The officer reported the accident at 8:33 p.m. Both were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
