NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Officials say three adults have been displaced Tuesday evening following a house fire on Sycamore avenue.
According to Scott Liebold with the Newport News Fire Department, crews received a call for a house fire in the 00 block of Sycamore Avenue shortly after 8:18 p.m. Tuesday.
Liebold says a space heater was operating too close to combustible materials and is responsible for the fire.
The home was condemned and three adults, now displaced, are being helped by the Red Cross.
