Pedestrian killed in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a vehicle while running across a Newport News road Tuesday morning.
Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department said the crash occurred at J. Clyde Morris Boulevard and San Jose Drive. Allen Christopher Cutler Thomas, Jr., 38, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was running north across the three eastbound lanes and the median, Thurston said.
Thomas, of Newport News, was able to make it across two westbound lanes before he was hit.
