NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - No one was injured in an early morning house fire off Barclay Road in Newport News Saturday.
Newport News fire crews responded around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a house fire and when they got on scene they found heavy smoke and fire coming from a window in a home in the 300 block of Barclay Road.
A resident who was home at the time was able to escape the flames through a back door, according to a press release from the Newport News Fire Department.
Crews were able to bring the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
There were no injuries reported.
Fire investigators believe the fire started at an electrical outlet in the home.
