NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Four overnight robberies in Newport News are so similar in nature, Newport News Police believe the same suspects committed all of the crimes.
The robberies occurred in the southeast area of the city, on the following streets:
A 49-year-old Hampton man was shot in the leg during the Oak Avenue incident, according to police spokesman Lou Thurston. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injury.
The victims all told detectives that a small silver hand gun was used in the crime and they described the three suspects as teenagers.
