NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - People in the northern part of Newport News are upset about crime and voiced their concerns at a town hall meeting Wednesday night.
10 On Your Side was in the Denbigh neighborhood for the meeting. Town hall meetings in Newport News are ways to open up communication with law enforcement and keep people safer.
“Unfortunately, you hear a lot about the bad things that are going on in the community, but what we want people to know is that crime is still going down, and that our community is much safer than it used to be,” Capt. Stuart Bradley with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com.
The next town hall meeting will take place in about six months.
