NN police add DUI patrols this weekend

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News police will be stepping up their DUI patrol operations this weekend to combat impaired drivers.

The operations will last from 9 p.m. until 3 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11, a news release from the Newport News Police Department said.

The officers assigned to the operation will be working overtime and will be paid through a Division of Motor Vehicles traffic safety grant.

The areas where the officers will be concentrating will not be made public prior to the operation.
