NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A Newport News man is behind bars, charged with making, receiving and possessing child pornography.
Police arrested Ian Hartney last Friday. Detectives said the investigation started in November when a computer repair company in Chesapeake called police about what was on Hartney's hard drive.
Officers raided Hartney's home and found six computers, four cameras and and several cell phones. Court papers say the electronics all contained photos and videos with two dozen different young girls performing sexual acts. Some of the videos were home made.
"It's nothing you ever want to see," said I.C.E. Assistant Special Agent Michael Lamonea.
I.C.E agents are now trying to find out who the girls are. They have been only able to identify seven of the 25 girls.
"One of the top priorities will be to continue to assist and identify any additional victims," Lamonea added.
Hartney remains in jail and will be before a judge for the first time Thursday in Norfolk Federal Court.
Investigators are still identifying and interviewing potential young victims.
