NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - The Newport News Police Department and its officers will be featured in an episode of a popular reality television show this weekend.
Officers will appear on "Cops" Saturday, Jan. 5 on FOX 43 TV at 8 p.m.
"The department itself has been around since 1882," Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said. "We have a long long tradition of good police work. It's ["Cops"'s 25th anniversary. [I think us] being on the show showing what we do... people would be excited about that."
