NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A 25-year-old motorcyclist has died after crashing with a tractor trailer in Newport News Thursday morning.
Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department said the victim was found unconscious in the middle of Enterprise Drive and Warwick Boulevard around 6:15 a.m., his motorcycle nearby.
Witnesses told police the 2000 Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound on Warwick Boulevard when it struck the back of a tractor trailer that was turning left onto Enterprise Drive.
McPherson said the driver of the truck was unaware of the crash. No charges have been filed.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital just before 7 a.m. and has been identified as Robert Francis Miner, III, of Newport News.
