NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A Tappahannock man was seriously injured Friday night when he crashed his Harley Davidson motorcycle head-on into a Ford pick-up truck on Huntington Ave. near the Warwick Blvd split.
Police say the man was traveling southbound on Warwick Blvd. when he turned into oncoming traffic on Huntington Ave., which is one way.
The driver of the pick-up truck attempted to stop when he saw the motorcycle heading towards him but the motorcycle hit the truck head-on, according to a news release from Newport News police.
The driver of the truck, a Newport News man, was not injured.
The Tappahannock man was taken to Riverside Hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition. Police say he faces wreckless driving charges.
